Lydia, his wife, died in 1826 at St. Edward's Church, Shalstone at the age of twenty-two.
He married Ann Turvey (1811–1866) on 28 Jan, 1830 at St. John's Church in Whitfield, Northamptonshire, Englandc1 . They went on to have seven children:–

- Robert baptised on 21 Aug, 1836 in Shalstonee2. Married Susanna May in the Oct-Dec quarter of 1857 in Buckinghamd2. Died in the Jan-Mar quarter of 1925 in the registration district of Croydon in Surrey, Englandd3 at the age of eighty-nine.

Ann, his wife, died on 22 May, 1866 in Shalstoneb6 at the age of fifty-five.
By the time of the 1871 census he was living at Wood Green, Shalstonek1 with his daughter Jane.
Thomas died at the age of seventy-seven on 8 Jul, 1880 at Huntsmill in Westbury, Buckinghamshire, Englandb7. His death was attributed to "natural decay" (death through old age)b7.
