Eileen Chambers (1898–1949)

Eileen was born on 20 Nov, 1898 at The Barracks in Newport, Monmouthshire, Walesa1, the second daughter of George Henry Chambers (1867–1923)★, a Bombardier in the Royal Artillery, and Louisa Hemmings (1876–1913)★, a general servant. She is Ian's great aunt.

By the time of the 1911 census she was living at 8 Joseph Street in Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, Englandc1 with her father George Henry, now a caretaker of laboratory, mother Louisa and six siblings William Joseph★, Rebecca, Hilda, George Henry, Louisa Alexandra and Helen Mary.

In the 1921 census she was living at 26 Cato Street in Gateshead, County Durham, Englandd1 with her father George Henry, now an unemployed caretaker and six siblings William Joseph, a pawnbroker's porter, Hilda, a grocer's assistant, George Henry, a wagon man, Louisa Alexandra, Helen Mary and Francis Patrick.

She married Joseph Burke (1896–1950), an engine fitter, on 16 Nov, 1923 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Gateshead, County Durham, Englanda2,e1 . They had three children:–

Eileen died accidentally at the age of fifty on 7 Nov, 1949 at St. Catherine's Nursing Home in Jesmond Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England. Her death was attributed to "general peritonitis".

She was survived by her husband Joseph Burke, now an engineer fitter.
