I just discovered today that Ancestry have added copies of Yorkshire Bishops Transcripts and these include images of the Whitley Chapel transcripts from 1765-1842!1 Usefully these also show the abode of the people mentioned which will make it much easier to build family groups.
While studying these I noticed a reference to a place called Dalton, which reminded me of the memorial notice I found yesterday.

There was no mention of Dotland Park at all between 1812 and 1831
There were no marriages after about 1779. They’re probably in another register that I haven’t found.
I thought there was a gap in the register between 1790 and 1798 but the pages are just in reverse order. So are the entries between 1812 and 1801.
George Carr was a church warden in 1786 Thomas Carr was a chapel warden in 1811, 1812 John Carr was a chapel warden in 1813
I also looked in the Hexham transcripts2:

I think “of the shire” refers to wider Hexhamshire, rather than the town of Hexham, i.e. the farms to the south of Hexham.
I read through the Hexham transcripts up to 1764 when the Whitley Chapelry began service.
